It can also help use less energy, reduce outdoor noise and become a focal point in your home.

French Doors

French patio doors swing open for an unobstructed view of the outdoors. This double-door style can make your room feel brighter and bigger. It lets in abundant natural light.

You can determine how wide to open them—just a crack or fully—to allow fresh breezes during the summer. Wide panes of glass hold on to the sun’s heat during the winter, helping keep your room comfortable.

French-style doors open inward or outward, depending on the model. They need more clearance to completely open—particularly for doors that open inward.

They can open more fully than a single-panel sliding door. A sliding door can only open to one side. It’s also limited by its frame.
